Unusual, hardy, and completely captivating, Silene asterias ‘Cherry Drumsticks’ is a Bulgarian catchfly with the kind of curious beauty that makes plant lovers look twice. In late spring, strong upright “drumsticks” rise above the foliage, carrying fascinating spherical flower clusters up to 2" across. Each cluster is packed with small, rich carmine blooms held in dark wine-colored bracts, then finished with bright blue anthers for a striking, jewel-box effect.
