Silvery foliage gives ‘Ghostly Princess’ a bright presence before its first flowers open. Short, dark violet flower heads carry tiny purple blooms around their sides and a fluttering crown of pale lavender-pink bracts above. Those soft flags stand out beautifully against the fine, luminous leaves, making this Spanish lavender as appealing up close as it is repeated along a sunny path.

Its compact, rounded mound generally reaches about 24–30 inches tall and wide, though size varies with climate and care. Flowering is strongest in spring and can continue into summer in favorable conditions. Aromatic foliage supplies texture between bloom cycles, and visiting butterflies add movement around the flower spikes. Use it in a sunny border, a gravel garden, or a well-drained patio container. Full sun, good air circulation, and fast-draining soil are the essentials. Water regularly during establishment, then let the soil approach dryness between waterings. Avoid a constantly wet crown or heavy, moisture-holding soil. USDA Zones 8–10 provide a conservative range for this evergreen selection. After flowering, trim lightly into leafy growth to maintain its shape, without cutting deeply into bare old wood. Deer resistance and modest water needs make it useful in suitably dry, sunny gardens.
