A fine native treasure for sunny, dry gardens, Solidago californica lights up the late-season landscape with arching sprays of rich golden-yellow flowers carried above handsome green foliage. Far from coarse or weedy, this California native has a graceful, natural presence and is invaluable for supporting bees, butterflies, and a wide range of beneficial pollinators when much of the garden is winding down. Its warm color and easy-going nature make it an excellent choice for native plantings, meadow-style borders, and habitat gardens, where it mingles beautifully with grasses and other drought-tolerant companions. Best grown in full sun and well-drained soil, it is tough, adaptable, and especially suited to hot, dry conditions. Growing about 2'-4' tall, it brings brightness, movement, and ecological value to the garden year after year.

Its glowing late-season flowers combine beautifully with native grasses, asters, and salvias for a naturalistic planting full of color and life.
