Fernleaf lavender brings an airy, almost feathery look to the sunny garden. Its deeply divided silvery-green foliage has a distinctive aromatic character, while slender stems carry blue-violet, trident-shaped flowers through summer. This perennial lavender is especially attractive to butterflies. Starting the small seeds indoors is recommended so you can tend the seedlings carefully before moving them into a sunny, well-drained garden spot. When the seedlings have several sets of leaves, transplant them into deeper containers.
