‘White Linen’ is an ethereal California Poppy, with creamy ivory blooms hovering above finely cut blue-green foliage like scraps of silk caught in sunlight. The satiny flowers open wide on bright days and fold themselves toward evening, so the planting shifts gently with the hours. Pale without being prim, it softens a wildflower garden while keeping all the easygoing charm of our state flower.

Plants form airy mounds about 12–18 inches tall, ideal for sunny borders, gravel gardens, meadow-style plantings, and informal cottage beds. Scatter it among blue, lavender, apricot, and silver companions, or plant a loose ribbon where the luminous flowers can glow at the edge of a path. Bees and other pollinators visit the blooms, and deer generally find something else to nibble.

Give ‘White Linen’ full sun, lean-to-average well-drained soil, and modest water once established. Rich soil or too much irrigation can produce more foliage than flowers, so a little restraint is rewarded. This easy annual may self-sow in congenial spots, returning as welcome little surprises.
