Alumroot

My favorite Heuchera! Why? Because it blooms so much and for such a long time – early Spring into Summer – with cream and soft pink spikes up to 20” and foliage that looks great year around. Rich green leaves form a dense mound to 14” tall x 30” across. This California native thrives under oaks and looks best in bright shade to part sun. Drought tolerant but shines with a little water and compost. Deer resistant!

Love but not deer tolerant
I planted these in my woodland garden; however, they are not deer tolerant. They are like candy for deer. They have munched them to the ground so often that they may not grow back at all.

Shade Brightening
Drought tolerant, low maintenance. Mine happily brightens the area under a bottle brush tree in spring. The foliage is evergreen in 9b, but the flowers leave when the summer heat comes.
