Description
Bring a rush of pure summer glamour to the garden with Zinnia elegans ‘Benary’s Giant Coral’! Its big, fully double blooms are packed with layer upon layer of petals in glowing coral, salmon-pink, and rosy-peach tones—warm, sumptuous colors that look positively radiant in afternoon light. Held high on long, sturdy stems, the flowers have the lush presence of old-fashioned garden favorites with the polished form of a florist’s bloom. Pair them with apricot, burgundy, lime, or blue-purple companions and the entire planting seems to come alive.
Vigorous, upright plants grow about 3–4 feet tall and flower generously from summer into fall. They are magnificent massed through a sunny border, invaluable in a productive cutting row, and bold enough to anchor a generous container. Cut the blooms often for armfuls of richly colored bouquets; the branching plants will continue producing new flowers, while visiting butterflies add even more motion to the display.
Grow in full sun with fertile, well-drained soil, regular water, and good air circulation. Watering at the base helps keep the foliage dry, and removing spent blooms encourages a long, abundant warm-season show.
