Verbascum hybrid
Southern Charm

Elegant, easy, and almost ever-blooming, Verbascum ‘Southern Charm’ is a garden-friendly mullein with soft, sophisticated color and a wonderfully relaxed habit. Tall 24–30" flower spikes carry single blooms in a charming mix of chamois, dusty rose, and apricot, each finished with fuzzy purple eyes for a little extra drama.

This perennial Verbascum is one of those plants that makes you feel wildly successful with very little effort. Cut back spent spikes and it keeps sending up more, bringing long-lasting vertical color to cottage gardens, perennial borders, dry gardens, pollinator plantings, and sunny mixed beds. Its airy stems pair beautifully with salvias, yarrows, grasses, roses, and other drought tolerant perennials.

Plant Verbascum ‘Southern Charm’ in full sun with well-drained soil. It is not fussy, but blooms even better with compost-enriched soil. Drought tolerant, deer resistant, and snail resistant, this easy mullein is a dependable charmer. Explore more favorites in our Verbascum - Mullein collection.

Unlike the towering, woolly mulleins of roadside fame, ‘Southern Charm’ is restrained enough for a designed border. Its translucent peach, rose, and buff flowers catch low light beautifully, and the upright stems add punctuation without forming a dense visual wall.
