Description

Fire and Ice makes its contrast count: vivid orange-scarlet and deep vermilion flowers flare against creamy white blooms on the same fragrant screen. Winged and ruffled petals give this exclusive sweet pea blend plenty of motion as the vines climb.

The long stems are tailored for cutting, and frequent harvests keep the 6–8-foot vines flowering through their cool-season prime. Use the blend to energize a cottage border, frame a gate, or fill a vase with warm color and sweet scent.

Sowing & Growing Instructions

Prepare deep, fertile, well-drained soil and put a sturdy trellis or netting in place before sowing. Plant seeds 1 inch deep and 2–3 inches apart in cool early spring, or sow in fall where winters are mild.

Keep the bed evenly moist. Germination is typically 14–28 days under the source conditions. Thin young plants to 4–5 inches apart and train tendrils onto the support as growth begins.

Mulch and water consistently as vines fill out. Harvest fragrant stems often and remove faded flowers to prolong bloom before hot weather arrives.
