Pelargonium
Lord Bute

Just wow. Pelargonium ‘Lord Bute’ may be one of the most lusted-after regal pelargoniums, and one look at the blooms explains everything. Scrumptious purple-maroon flowers, almost black, are edged in bright cerise, creating a rich, theatrical display that looks positively hand-painted.

Also known as Lord Bute Regal Geranium, this showy pelargonium is fabulous in containers, patio plantings, porch pots, protected borders, and collector gardens where its dramatic flowers can be admired up close. Blooming generously from late spring into summer, it brings vintage glamour and jewel-toned color to sunny or lightly shaded spaces. Pair it with silver foliage, pale pinks, apricot blooms, chartreuse accents, or other fancy-leaved pelargoniums for a truly delicious combination.

Plant Pelargonium ‘Lord Bute’ in full sun to part shade with rich, well-drained soil and regular water. Protect from hard frost and avoid soggy roots. Elegant, unusual, and wildly photogenic, this is a container star with serious presence. Explore more beauties in our Pelargonium collection.
