Description
Rich, ruffled, and wonderfully eye-catching, Pelargonium ‘Cherries Jubilee’ combines sumptuous magenta flowers with foliage large enough to make a statement all by itself. Serrated, upward-cupped leaves can reach 5 inches across, creating a lush, sculptural mound before the first bud has even considered opening.
From late spring through summer, clusters of 2-inch flowers appear in vivid magenta with rosy-pink edges and deep burgundy markings. This vigorous pelargonium matures around 2–3 feet tall and wide, making it far more substantial than an ordinary bedding geranium. Give it room in sunny borders, hell strips, low-maintenance gardens, or a 10-gallon-or-larger container where its foliage and flowers can develop their full flamboyant character.
Plant ‘Cherries Jubilee’ in full sun to part sun with well-drained soil. Once established, it tolerates blistering sun, poor ground, and only occasional water, though richer soil and regular deep watering produce the fastest, lushest growth. Remove tired flower clusters and shape lightly as needed. In frost-prone gardens, a container makes winter protection considerably easier. Tough, colorful, and satisfyingly oversized, this is a pelargonium with presence. Explore more vigorous favorites in our Pelargonium collection.
