Fuchsia ‘Santa Cruz’ is a classic heirloom fuchsia with exhibition-quality flowers and impressive garden toughness. A worldwide favorite since the 1940s, it produces pretty recurved rosy-red sepals and large semi-double to fully double violet corollas that dangle like elegant little lanterns from spring into fall.

Growing about 5' tall and 3' wide, this bushy fuchsia has shiny bright green leaves and exuberant 2–2.5" flowers that attract hummingbirds and butterflies. It is especially useful in bright shade gardens, containers, woodland borders, sheltered patios, and old-fashioned cottage plantings where long bloom and vivid color are welcome. Though it may go deciduous in colder months, it leafs out again as soon as the weather warms.
