Erigeron glaucus
Cape Sebastian

Add easy coastal color with Erigeron glaucus ‘Cape Sebastian’, a hardy California native seaside daisy with cheerful blue-purple, lavender-pink daisy flowers that return year after year. This long-blooming perennial brings a soft, natural look to sunny borders, native plant gardens, coastal plantings, pollinator beds, pathway edges, and containers.

Also known as seaside fleabane or beach aster, ‘Cape Sebastian’ forms a tidy mound of handsome green foliage topped with bright, open-faced blooms from spring through fall. The flowers are wonderfully useful for adding low, colorful texture at the front of the garden, and they pair beautifully with California poppies, yarrow, native sages, buckwheats, grasses, and other drought-tolerant perennials. Bees, butterflies, and beneficial insects appreciate the steady supply of nectar-rich blooms.

Plant Erigeron glaucus ‘Cape Sebastian’ in full sun to part shade with well-drained soil. Once established, it is durable, low-maintenance, and water-wise, though occasional water keeps it looking freshest. Explore more habitat-friendly favorites in our California Native Perennials collection.
