Turn up the tropical heat with Agastache ‘Guava Lava’! Glowing coral-orange flower spikes rise from dusky mauve-pink calyces, creating a juicy, sunset-bright combination that positively smolders in the summer garden. Add aromatic foliage, a naturally tidy habit, and a steady parade of hummingbirds, and this colorful little powerhouse becomes almost impossible to resist.

This upright perennial grows approximately 20–22 inches tall and 22–26 inches wide. Hardy in USDA zones 5–9, it performs best in full sun and lean, sharply drained soil. Provide regular water during establishment, then water lightly once mature. ‘Guava Lava’ thrives in heat, tolerates drought, and requires little fertilizer or maintenance. Avoid heavy soil and excessive winter moisture.

The nectar-rich tubular flowers bloom from midsummer into fall, attracting hummingbirds, bees, and butterflies over a long season. Deer typically avoid the fragrant foliage. Use it in pollinator gardens, sunny borders, rock gardens, xeric plantings, and containers, or combine it with salvias, yarrows, ornamental grasses, and other heat-loving perennials.
