Aqua-blue flowers give ‘Porcelain Blue’ the sort of color that makes you stop along a shady path. Each slender bloom has an elongated spur and a small, pale-tipped mouth, carried in loose clusters above finely divided blue-green leaves. A light fragrance rewards a closer look, while occasional bronze tones in the foliage add depth beneath the cool blue display.

This clumping perennial grows about 12 inches tall and 12–18 inches wide, a useful size for the front of a woodland border or a container in filtered light. Its strongest flush comes in spring into early summer, with repeat flowers in autumn under favorable conditions. Selected at Hillier from Corydalis flexuosa seedlings, it is valued for holding its foliage through summer more reliably than many blue corydalis. Pair it with ferns or broad-leaved shade plants so the delicate leaves and narrow flowers remain easy to see.

Give ‘Porcelain Blue’ partial to full shade and humus-rich soil that holds moisture but drains freely. Water regularly, especially in containers, and protect the roots from drying heat. It is listed for USDA Zones 5–10, though a cool, sheltered position matters in warmer gardens. Remove spent stems and tired foliage as needed.
