Collection: Stipa - Needlegrass
Stipa plants are perennial bunchgrasses with many native species. Feather grass grows as a tuft of thread-like green foliage with long feathery flowering spikes. They prefer full sun to part shade and are very drought tolerant. One of our favorites is Purple Needlegrass, the state grass of California, which once covered much of the Central Valley. It is long-lived with very deep roots, making it perfect for erosion control; it’s also an attractive complement to native wildflowers.
