In California, they provide essential nectar for native bees, hoverflies, and especially the Checkerspot butterfly, whose populations rely on native wildflowers like this one.

Growing to about 1214 tall and spreading 1218, this compact annual is ideal for wildflower meadows, borders, or sunny containers. It thrives in full sun and well-draining soil. Tidy Tips grow fast! Sow seeds in fall or early spring for a wave of color from late spring into early summer. The blooms last longer with a bit of deadheading and certainly won't mind a little side dressing of compost. If you let a few flowers go to seed, theyll happily self-sow and return next year with even more charm. Once established, they need very little water, making them an eco-friendly choice for low-water gardens.
