Blossoms hover just above a neat mound of bright green foliage, making this viola as tidy as it is eye-catching. Growing to just 6" tall × 10" wide it is happiest in cool summer climates, where it can bloom for months on end. In hotter regions, treat it as a hardy annual: plant in fall, enjoy evergreen foliage all winter, and delight in some of the earliest spring color around. It can tolerate full sun in cool climates, but in warm or hot regions, shade from mid-day sun is essential to prevent stress and prolong bloom.
