Description
Magical, romantic, and full of painterly variation, Papaver rhoeas ‘Falling in Love’ is a Shirley poppy mix with semi-double 3" blooms in red, scarlet-orange, rose, pink, peach, and charming picotee bicolors. The flowers bob and sway on slender upright stems for months, especially when deadheaded, creating a soft, old-fashioned display that feels made for cottage gardens.
This annual poppy grows about 30" tall and 18" wide, bringing dreamy color to borders, cutting gardens, containers, and meadow-style plantings. It is sublime with blue delphiniums, larkspur, bachelor buttons, grasses, and other cool-season flowers. If allowed to set seed, it may self-sow, giving you another round of its lovely variations next spring.
Plant Papaver rhoeas ‘Falling in Love’ in full sun with rich, well-drained soil. As a cool-season grower, plant Papaver when extreme heat or extreme cold is not expected. Explore more romantic blooms in our Papaver - Poppies collection.
