Dark, velvety, and deliciously dramatic, Scabiosa atropurpurea ‘Black Knight’ brings moody garden glamour with dozens of deep crimson-black pincushion blooms held on long, branching stems. Each 2" spherical flower is studded with contrasting pale “pins,” creating that classic scabiosa look — elegant, textural, and irresistible in both the garden and the vase.

An easy, fast-growing annual, ‘Black Knight’ Scabiosa reaches about 2–3' tall and 1' wide, making it perfect for cutting gardens, cottage borders, pollinator plantings, and romantic mixed beds. Butterflies and bees adore the nectar-rich blooms, while gardeners love the long stems and excellent vase life, often lasting up to two weeks in arrangements.

Plant Scabiosa atropurpurea ‘Black Knight’ in full sun with well-drained soil. Cut back to about 6" whenever plants need refreshing, and enjoy a fresh flush of flowers. It may self-sow where happy, returning with more dark, mysterious little beauties. Easy, floriferous, and fabulously brooding — a true bouquet-worthy standout.
