Description
Oh, what a charmer this one is! ‘Purple Gleam’ takes the easygoing spirit of our beloved California Poppy and dresses it up in the dreamiest wash of lavender-rose, as though each silky petal had been touched with a watercolor brush. The single flowers have a soft, painterly look that plays beautifully with lavender, cream, and primrose-toned companions, making it a natural for cottage gardens and romantic native-style plantings. Just like the species, it’s wonderfully unfussy—happy in poor, dry, or average soil and needing very little once established. Deadhead to keep the blooms coming, or let a few go to seed if you’d like a return engagement. Grows about 12" to 16" tall and wide. Deer resistant.
Dreaming of a Mediterranean garden look? Our blog shares ideas for mixing flowers and foliage to create that charming, layered garden style.

Plant Care & Arrival Guide
Get your plants off to a strong start with our care guide.

All of the plants I ordered arrived stressed. I took them out of the box immediately, removed the taped paper, placed them in the shade and added a little water. The very next morning I planted them hoping that they would bounce back.
One of six has died, the remaining five are barely hanging on. Super disappointing.
