In our opinion, Delosperma nubigenum is one of the best drought tolerant and deer resistant groundcovers you can grow. Also known as Hardy Yellow Iceplant, it spreads into an exceptionally dense, flat mat of bright emerald-green succulent foliage, creating a clean, low carpet for sunny dry gardens, slopes, rock gardens, and path edges.

In bloom, this tough succulent ground cover is sprinkled with cheerful yellow daisy-like flowers that glow against the foliage. Its low, spreading habit makes it especially useful for erosion control, parking strips, gravel gardens, retaining wall edges, and containers where a water-wise plant with year-round texture is needed. The foliage can take on attractive bronze tones in cool weather, adding even more seasonal interest.

Plant Delosperma nubigenum in full sun with sharply drained soil. Once established, it needs little water and handles heat, poor soil, and dry conditions beautifully.
