A striking and richly colored sunflower, Helianthus annuus ‘Ring of Fire’ earns its name with glowing petals brushed in warm shades of gold, amber, and deep red, creating a vivid halo around its dark central disk. Each flower has a slightly varied pattern, giving plantings a lively, almost hand-painted effect that stands out beautifully in the summer garden.

Unlike more uniform types, this freely branching annual sunflower produces a succession of blooms over a long season, offering continuous color and plenty of flowers for cutting. It’s a favorite for cutting gardens and informal borders, where its warm tones pair especially well with rudbeckia, grasses, and other late-season companions.

The open flower centers are a magnet for bees and other beneficial insects, adding ecological value along with visual appeal. Easy to grow from seed, it performs best in full sun and well-drained soil, and handles heat with ease once established.
