One of the best choices for a sophisticated, drought tolerant groundcover, Ceanothus thyrsiflorus var. griseus ‘Yankee Point’ is a fast-growing California lilac with glossy evergreen foliage and clouds of soft blue flowers. Its mounding, spreading habit reaches about 30" tall and can spread widely, making it excellent for slopes, banks, and large dry garden beds.

Also known as Yankee Point Ceanothus or California lilac, this native shrub is prized for weed suppression, hillside stabilization, and habitat value. In bloom, it attracts bees, butterflies, and other beneficial insects, while the rich green foliage provides year-round structure. Use it in native plant gardens, coastal plantings, erosion-control areas, wildlife gardens, and water-wise landscapes with sages, buckwheats, manzanitas, grasses, and poppies.
