The first time we saw turquoise blooms on a salvia, we were smitten. Salvia bullulata ‘Pale Form’ is a rare and remarkable sage from northern Peru, producing copious white-tipped, turquoise sky-blue flowers on upright and arching wands from late spring into December in mild climates. The color is fresh, surprising, and completely garden-stopping.

Also known as Pale Form Salvia, this shrubby perennial grows about 2–3' tall and 3' wide, with a pleasingly bushy habit and handsome quilted deep green leaves. Hummingbirds love the tubular blooms, and the long flowering season makes it a treasure for pollinator gardens, part-sun borders, collector plantings, and large containers.

Plant Salvia bullulata ‘Pale Form’ in rich, well-drained soil with regular water and protection from hard frosts. Give it sun to part shade and enough room for its graceful arching stems.
