Cool, compact, and intensely silvery blue, Festuca glauca ‘Elijah Blue’ is one of the best blue fescue grasses for adding year-round color and fine texture to the garden. Its narrow, soft blades form tidy clumps about 8–10" tall, creating a superb color accent for edging, small groundcover areas, rock gardens, containers, and dry garden borders.

Also known as Elijah Blue Fescue or blue fescue grass, this evergreen ornamental grass is especially beautiful in cool coastal climates, where the foliage color stays crisp and bright. Use it along pathways, in mass plantings, at the front of perennial beds, or beside silver foliage, succulents, lavender, yarrow, California poppies, and other water-wise plants.

Plant Festuca glauca ‘Elijah Blue’ in full sun with well-drained soil. Avoid heavy clay and overly wet conditions.
