Lithodora diffusa ‘Grace Ward’ is beloved for one very good reason: intensely gentian-blue flowers that seem to glow against deep green foliage. This vigorous evergreen groundcover first forms a soft 3–6" high mat, then in late spring covers itself with a parade of dark blue, star-shaped flowers about 1/2" across.

When in full bloom, few blue-flowering groundcovers can match its beauty. ‘Grace Ward’ is excellent for sunny beds, rock gardens, low walls, slopes, hanging baskets, and containers where it can spill and cascade with elegant ease. Even out of bloom, the soft foliage makes a handsome backdrop for companion plants, especially silver foliage, yellow flowers, grasses, and other low-water perennials.
