Add bright silvery contrast and cushiony texture with Sedum spathulifolium ‘Cape Blanco’, a standout Pacific Coast native succulent with serious small-scale charm. This compact stonecrop forms tight rosettes of powdery silver foliage, slowly spreading into a well-behaved mat about 6" tall and 1–2' wide.
Also known as Cape Blanco Stonecrop, this drought tolerant native sedum is wonderful in rock gardens, succulent containers, dry borders, gravel plantings, pathway edges, and crevice gardens. In season, vivid yellow star-shaped flowers rise above the pale foliage, creating a cheerful contrast that pollinators appreciate. Its cool silver color pairs beautifully with blue succulents, dark foliage, terracotta pots, native grasses, and warm orange or pink blooms.
Plant Sedum spathulifolium ‘Cape Blanco’ in full sun to light shade with sharply drained soil. Easy, low-growing, and wonderfully useful, it self-propagates slowly for charming little freebies over time. Explore more water-wise favorites in our Sedum collection.
