Refined, fragrant, and hard to find, Viola odorata ‘Comte De Brazza’ is a treasured Parma Violet originally bred by Italian nobleman and passionate botanist Filippo Savorgnan di Brazza. Its snowy double blooms, possibly the largest among Parma violets at about 1.25" across, look like tiny white roses and release a heavenly sweet perfume.
Also known as Comte De Brazza Sweet Violet, this charming perennial blooms from early spring into summer and is perfect for shaded borders, woodland gardens, containers, and fragrant posies. Deep green leaves form a handsome groundcover that spreads to about 15" across, thriving beautifully beneath shrubs or in a shady garden corner. The flowers are especially lovely cut for small bouquets where their fragrance can be savored up close.
Plant Viola odorata ‘Comte De Brazza’ in partial shade to shade with rich, loamy, well-drained soil. Cut back anytime to refresh growth, and divide easily to share with friends. Explore more scented treasures in our Viola - Pansy (Perennials) collection.
