A true little gem, Viola ‘Etain’ brings months of luminous color with primrose-yellow petals beautifully edged in soft lavender. Each lightly fragrant bloom looks like a miniature watercolor, glowing above tidy, compact foliage that stays neat and charming through the season.
Reliably perennial and wonderfully floriferous, ‘Etain’ Viola blooms heavily from spring through fall across much of the country, and nearly year-round in mild coastal California. Growing about 10" tall and 12" wide, it is perfect for the front of borders, shady pathways, woodland gardens, containers, and small bouquets where its sweet fragrance can be enjoyed up close.
Plant Viola ‘Etain’ in partial shade to full shade with rich, well-drained soil and even moisture. In cool-summer or coastal gardens, it can tolerate a bit more sun. For refreshed growth and more blooms, trim plants back to about 3" tall occasionally and top-dress with compost. Cold hardy, easy to grow, and beloved by bees and beneficial insects, ‘Etain’ is one of the most garden-worthy violas around.

Beautiful. I am just sorry I didn't order more.
I have loved these Etain violas for years and have always purchased mine from Annie's. They're cold hardy, do well in summer heat, are great in pots, and hold up year after year. Best of all, they brighten up all the corners I tuck them into.
