Description
A monkey flower with multiple colors on one plant? Yes, please. Mimulus ‘Changeling’ is a colorful sticky monkey flower cultivar with bold 1.5" blooms that shift through cream, orange, and red tones, creating a lively, painterly display from late spring and often continuing nearly year-round in mild climates.
This California native-style perennial grows to about 36" tall and wide, forming a showy shrublet for native gardens, dry borders, oak understory plantings, slopes, containers, and habitat-friendly landscapes. Hummingbirds and butterflies love the tubular flowers, while gardeners appreciate its tolerance for clay-ish soil, dry summer conditions, and challenging garden spots. It can go semi-dormant when kept summer dry, but a little extra water helps it stay greener and bloomier.
Plant Mimulus ‘Changeling’ in sun to part shade with excellent drainage, especially in regular garden conditions. Cut back as needed to refresh growth. Deer resistant, pollinator-friendly, and full of color surprises, it belongs in every adventurous monkey flower planting. Explore more in our Mimulus - Monkey Flowers collection.
