Lupinus regalis ‘Morello Cherry’ brings the drama of regal lupines in a color that feels rich, unusual, and wildly garden-worthy. This showy perennial lupine produces tall flower spikes packed with deep cherry, rose, and burgundy-toned blooms, creating a bold vertical accent for cottage gardens, cutting gardens, pollinator plantings, and sunny perennial borders.
Also known as Morello Cherry Lupine, this beauty offers the classic pea-flower texture gardeners love, with lush palmate foliage and flower spikes that attract bees and butterflies. Its saturated color pairs beautifully with blue salvia, apricot foxgloves, white poppies, grasses, yarrow, and silver foliage, adding depth and romance to spring and early summer plantings.
Plant Lupinus regalis ‘Morello Cherry’ in full sun to light afternoon shade with rich, well-drained soil and regular water during active growth. Good drainage is essential for long-term success, especially in warmer climates. Deadhead spent spikes to encourage a tidy appearance. Explore more dramatic spires in our Lupinus collection.

Planted this last year and it didn't do much. However it over wintered and currently it is about 12" wide and 8" tall with its first spike. The color is outstanding, and looks like a second spike will emerge soon. Hopefully it will continue to grow and bloom throughout the upcoming summer.
