Fast, tough, and unbelievably floriferous, Geranium pyrenaicum ‘Bill Wallis’ is a cranesbill geranium that earns its fan club almost immediately. Deep purple-blue flowers create a cloud of color from spring through fall, floating over a tidy, mounding plant about 15" tall and 20" wide.
Also known as Bill Wallis Cranesbill, this reliable perennial is wonderfully useful in borders, containers, cottage gardens, rose plantings, and those little bare spots that need soft, long-lasting color. The heart-shaped petals are especially charming up close, and the plant happily self-sows where it is content, filling in with even more easygoing beauty.
Plant Geranium pyrenaicum ‘Bill Wallis’ in rich, well-drained soil with half-day sun for the best show, though it is forgiving, heat tolerant, and resilient if you occasionally forget to water. After months of bloom, cut back to about 1", side-dress with compost, and watch it rebound. Explore more easy groundcovers in our Geranium - Cranesbill collection.

Easy grower, with clouds of bright, blue-purple flowers on short wands, moving in every breeze. This is a great little hardy annual geranium -- baby plants will usually winter over for me in wet, coastal zone 8b. Spreads ever so slowly by polite self-seeding, but is more likely to disappear by accident (Nooooooooo!) than to overstay its welcome. Thanks for introducing me to Mr. Wallis, Annie's; Bill is a keeper!
