Description
Mighty but not mitey, Fuchsia ‘Ruddy Rodney’ is a compact, mite-resistant fuchsia introduced by Dr. Peter Baye, and we are delighted to offer it. Growing no more than about 2' tall and wide, this almost ever-blooming shrub produces a continuous profusion of 2–2.5" pendulous flowers in pink, red, and white from spring through fall.
Also known as Ruddy Rodney Fuchsia, this charming cultivar has glossy foliage and a tidy habit that makes it perfect for the front of a border, shade garden, container, or hanging basket. The dangling flowers bring classic fuchsia elegance in a more manageable size, and hummingbirds will happily make regular visits. Use it in bright shade or morning sun where the blooms can be enjoyed up close.
Plant Fuchsia ‘Ruddy Rodney’ in part shade with rich, well-drained soil and regular water. Cut back lightly in winter to refresh growth and keep plants full. Compact, colorful, and wonderfully useful, it is a beautiful choice for mild-climate gardens and containers. Explore more shade-loving bloomers in our Fuchsia collection.
