Description
All the big chartreuse drama of Euphorbia characias, but in a useful dwarf form, this compact spurge brings bold texture and luminous color to sunny gardens. Growing only about 2.5' tall and 3' wide, Euphorbia characias ‘Dwarf’ fits beautifully in the foreground of beds, parking strips, dry borders, and color-forward perennial plantings.
The flower heads are just as showy as the full-size species, reaching up to 16" tall and 10" wide, with that unmistakable glowing chartreuse presence gardeners love. Plant it in sweeps for a serious showstopper, or pair it with purple foliage, orange flowers, silver foliage, grasses, and drought tolerant perennials for maximum contrast. It is super easy, not fussy about soil, drought tolerant, deer resistant, and gopher resistant.
Plant dwarf spurge in full sun to part shade, providing some shade in hotter areas. Deadhead by cutting the entire spent stem to the base, and remove seedlings if you do not want volunteers. Like all euphorbias, the sap can be irritating or toxic, so protect eyes and skin and never ingest. Explore more standout perennials in our Best Selling - Perennials & Biennials collection.

A bit of lime green is the insider tip to make your garden very special. This is also a must have for gardens for deer, drought and fire resistant.
