Description
Just like ‘Camelot Rose’, Digitalis purpurea ‘Camelot Lavender’ blooms soon after planting, which suits us perfectly. This vigorous foxglove produces extra plentiful spikes of lovely lavender flowers, each one beautifully spotted in maroon and held in full circles around the upright stems. The effect is enchanting, vertical, and wonderfully cottage-garden classic.
Also known as Camelot Lavender Foxglove, this biennial or short-lived perennial forms a big-leaved foliage mound up to 2' across and sends flower spikes 3–4' tall. More blooms often follow in the second year, giving you a generous show in borders, woodland edges, cutting gardens, pollinator plantings, and large containers. Bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds adore the tubular flowers, and the stems are beautiful in arrangements.
Plant Digitalis purpurea ‘Camelot Lavender’ in sun to part shade with rich, well-drained soil for the best show. It is deer and rabbit resistant, dramatic without being difficult, and fabulous for vertical color. Explore more romantic spires in our Digitalis collection.
