Description
Huge, dramatic, and beautifully refined, Delphinium elatum ‘Morning Lights’ brings tall spires of purplish-mauve flowers backed in blue to the summer garden. Each densely packed bloom has a center “bee” in white to purplish tones, creating a soft, luminous effect that looks magnificent in cottage gardens, cutting gardens, and pollinator borders.
This New Zealand hybrid delphinium was bred for strong stems, vigorous growth, and improved heat and humidity tolerance, making it a superb choice for gardeners who want real vertical drama without too much fuss. Plants reach about 4–5' tall, with dissected green foliage at the base and 3" flowers crowded along upright spikes. Bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds all appreciate the show.
Plant Delphinium elatum ‘Morning Lights’ in full sun with fertile, well-drained soil. Deadhead after the first bloom to encourage secondary spikes and a possible fall repeat. Deer resistant and fabulous as a cut flower, it is a true garden centerpiece. Explore more towering beauties in our Delphinium - Larkspur collection.
