Brilliant, elegant, and wonderfully dramatic, Delphinium elatum ‘Black Eyed Angels’ brings towering spires of white double blooms with bold black “bees” to the summer garden. Bred by Dowdeswell Delphiniums in New Zealand, this magnificent larkspur was selected for strong stems, vigor, longer garden life, improved heat resistance, and good powdery mildew resistance.
Reaching an impressive 4–5' tall, ‘Black Eyed Angels’ Delphinium is a superb vertical accent for cottage gardens, cutting gardens, perennial borders, and pollinator plantings. The bright white flowers glow beautifully in the landscape and make spectacular cut flowers, while bees and hummingbirds find the blooms irresistible.
Plant Delphinium elatum ‘Black Eyed Angels’ in full sun with fertile, well-drained soil. Deadhead after the first bloom and cut back to about 6" to encourage repeat flowering into fall. Feed once blooming begins for the best show, and bait for snails if needed. Deer and rabbit resistant, this delphinium is pure garden grandeur.
