Description
Lacy, romantic, and wonderfully useful, Daucus carota ‘Dara’ is a richly colored Queen Anne’s Lace selection that brings soft movement and bouquet-ready texture to sunny gardens. Found as a chance seedling of wild carrot, ‘Dara’ opens deep red, then slowly fades to pink, with some umbels occasionally appearing white for a dreamy multicolored effect.
Growing about 3' tall and 1' wide, Dara Queen Anne’s Lace looks best planted in groups where its 3" umbels can mingle and shift in color. It is fabulous in wildflower gardens, cottage borders, cutting gardens, meadow-style plantings, and mixed beds with other tall flowers or ornamental grasses. Pollinators flock to the open blooms, and the stems are excellent for fresh summer bouquets or dried arrangements.
Plant Daucus carota ‘Dara’ in full sun. Adaptable to many soil types, this easy annual may reseed where happy, bringing more airy charm to future gardens. Explore more seasonal favorites in our Annuals collection.
