This may become your new favorite giant delphinium. Delphinium elatum ‘Blue Lace’ was bred by the Dowdeswell family of New Zealand for huge repeating spikes, extra vigor, good mildew resistance, and reliable perennial performance — and oh my, does it deliver.
Blooming from summer into fall with regular deadheading, ‘Blue Lace’ Delphinium produces multiple, densely packed flower spikes reaching up to 6' tall on a strong, 4' wide plant. The sublime two-tone flowers blend richly saturated sky blue with soft lavender tones, creating a cool, luminous effect that is absolutely breathtaking in borders, cottage gardens, cutting gardens, and romantic perennial plantings.
Plant Delphinium elatum ‘Blue Lace’ in full sun to light afternoon shade with compost-rich, well-drained soil. Rich soil is a must for those glorious giant spikes.
