If you are looking for a low acid sweet heirloom, this variety grown and loved since the early 1920’s is your new best tomato friend. It produces really well in areas with cool summers and lower night time temperatures, just perfect for us coastal gardeners. It is a beefsteak-sized slicing tomato, salad tomato or the one you will want to have on a plate of its own at the center of your Summer table. Give it rich soil and, since it is indeterminate in size provide support and average water until its fruits just start to color then reduce water by about 1/3 for the best taste and texture.
