With a cult following like no other plant in our nursery – if it could be propagated on drool alone, we would be up to our ears in this incredibly rare, black-flowered member of the pea family from the Cape Verde Islands. Fairly easy (protect from frost), we grow ours in a 10-15 gal. container where it rather looks like a bonzai maple, flaunting those delectable 2 1/4" clusters of velvety, maroon-y-black, pea flowers year-round! You betcha! In time, it forms a small, woody-trunked shrub 2' x 2' – sure to be your pride and joy. Feed once or twice a year. Well-drained soil.
