Geraniums, also known as Cranesbills, are low-maintenance, long-blooming plants. They make excellent ground covers or front-of-bed options and are known for their carefree nature. Geranium plants produce colorful flowers on branching stems and thrive in full to part sun with well-drained soil, whether planted in the ground or in pots. Depending on the climate, cranesbills can be grown as either perennial or annual plants. Geranium flowers come in a variety of colors, such as red, coral, lavender, salmon, and bicolor. Geraniums, or Cranesbill plants, do best in full to part sun with well-drained soil.
Long blooming Cranesbill or Geranium plants can be grown as perennials in milder climates and annual plants in colder climates. They can be brought indoors to overwinter when planted in pots.
Easy-to-grow geranium plants do well in both pots and in the ground, as long as there is good drainage in the pot and well-draining soil in the ground.
Geraniums are known as tender perennials which means they can be grown as perennials in mild climates and annuals in colder climates.
Some of our favorite geranium plants are Geranium Rozanne and Geranium Bill Wallis.
