Easy to grow, sun-loving, long blooming, and adaptable to poor soils, hardy perennial or annual Centaurea plants are thistle-like flowering plants and as carefree as wildflowers. They are commonly known as Bachelor Buttons or Cornflowers and are hardy bloomers with masses of flowers in hues of pink, blue, or burgundy held on upright stems. Centaurea plants are great for beginners and are drought tolerant, deer resistant, and fab for beds and borders, cottage gardens, and containers.
