Never again be without Savory! This semi-evergreen cousin to Summer Savory brings the same I-can’t-believe-there’s-no-bacon flavor to your baked beans, soups, or roasted veggies and keeps it coming thru the cold Wintery months – long after Summer Savory has bloomed itself to death. Forms a low-growing 1’ high by 1.5’ wide mound of dense, glossy, dark green foliage. The leaves are a bit on the tough side raw (in my humble opinion) but lovely when cooked. Apparently it has various medicinal uses including reducing flatulence – which is serendipitous as it’s delightful with beans. Produces bee-attracting white or lavender flowers in late Summer. Plant in well-draining soil. Deer and drought tolerant. Evergreen in most zones where it’s hardy.
