For something as tropical-looking as this glowing Brazilian-Chilean perennial, I’m amazed at how well it thrives here in cool-Summer NorCal. Super reliable and tough, it gets better and bloomier every year! Much adored by those who’ve grown it, it’s a showstopper of a perennial in the part-shade garden. A long and prolific bloomer, the 2” luminous true red flaring tubular flowers are held upright above a compact clump of bright green foliage from May to frost! Fabulous in a container or plant it where you can admire its dazzling non-stop display! To 3’ x 3’ here, it spreads faster in Southern states. Best in rich, well-drained soil. Hummers! Deciduous.
