Not like any Ranunculus you've seen before; with a glint and a glimmer these beauties will be the freshest flowers in your garden. The natural waxed petals give these violet- and mulberry-hued blooms a shimmering appearance and an incredible hang time for each bloom, whether in the vase or the garden. Ferny green foliage emerges in late winter. Come spring, long stems will hold these berry-colored beauties aloft amongst your California Poppies, your Antirrhinums, and your Calendulas. Ranunculus make exceptional container plants, and are ideal as long-lasting cut flowers. Ranunculus can be planted in containers or in garden beds spaced 4” to 6” and at a depth of 1” to 2”. In zones 9 & 10, plant bulbs in well drained soils in fall for early spring blooms. In mild regions, dormant bulbs can be left in the ground. Elsewhere, bulbs can be planted in early spring for late spring into early summer blooms. In zones 8 and under bulbs can be lifted and stored to ensure years and years of beautiful blooms. Deer are typically not interested.
