This Snow Queen blooms in spring! Ranunculus Iceberg is commanding yet so graceful with its copious translucent crystal-white petals. These sun-lovers first form finely textured green foliage to 15" high, then put out a seemingly endless procession of fully double blooms. Ranunculus (also known as Persian buttercups) can be planted in containers or in garden beds, and are cultivated to be ideal as long-lasting cut flowers. (Half Clone Ranunculus are bred from a combination of tissue culture and seeds, leading to their distinctive name.) Best in fertile, well-draining soil spaced 4" to 6" and at a depth of 1" to 2". Plant in fall for spring bloom in mild winter areas; winter deciduous where hardy. Elsewhere, lift bulbs & overwinter indoors, or simply grow as a summer-blooming annual. Deer typically aren't interested.
