IF we were ever to live in a “Mad Max” world, this is one tree to have in close proximity! With more medicinal, cosmetic & industrial uses than you can shake a stick at (try Googling it), this is such a valuable tree that it is currently threatened in its native habitat. Rich in saponins, its inner bark is used to make soap, vaccines, a cough remedy & even smooth wrinkles! ½.5” leaves held on arching pendulous branches. EVERGREEN & DROUGHT TOLERANT with attractive bark, it forms a medium-sized slender tree to 30’ tall bearing attractive shiny oval leaves. Pretty, small creamy white starry flowers burst into profuse bloom beginning in May & last well into Summer. An excellent shade provider, it’s also highly valued as a habitat enhancer, attracting ladybugs & a host of other beneficial insects. Can be bonzaied.
