Like the first time you see a tropical sunset, most people remember the first time they've smelled the intoxicatingly fragrant tuberose flower! There's nothing quite like the wondrous fragrance & smelling the flowers in your own garden only amplifies the joy! Plants first form 18” high grass-like clumps & then when the weather really heats up, they send up thick, 3' high stalks densely populated with waxy, pure white, open-faced double flowers. On a warm afternoon, you can smell that delicious scent from a mile away it seems. Mature clumps will send up as many as a dozen flowering stalks a year, extending the summer blooming season. Plant this deciduous tuber in full sun in the warmest spot in your garden. Reflected heat from walls or a cement walkway is perfect. Best blooming occurs from year two on. This plant is very vigorous, forming large clumps over time. These clumps can be divided when too root bound. Plant in fertile, well-drained soil. Attracts hummers. Makes an excellent cut flower.
